SKIN: WHAT KIND OF FACIAL DO I NEED???

Getting to know your skin better and know what it’s asking for is essential for your at home skin care regimen. That’s 50% of it. In addition, getting regular facials with L-T Wellness is where you learn what to do and how to care for it. Not to mention, getting the best customized treatments for your specific skin type by a professional that cares is the other 50%. That’s 100% love that you are giving your skin and you will never regret it!

  1. First of all, some things to consider would be when is the last time that you have received a facial service? If it has been more than 6 weeks, you may need a skin reset. Facials are recommended every 4-6 weeks because as you age, your skin does not turn over old, dead, dull skin cells as much as it used to when you were younger. Therefore, it is so very important to keep a great professional skin care routine to boost your results as well as what you are using at home to better your skin. If this is you, you might need to do the Deluxe Customized Facial or DCF (about an hour -$90). This is a great basic, customized facial for first timers or clients that haven’t had a facial in a long time. There is not a lot of exfoliation and it is great to get back on track and it will allow us to discuss any questions and concerns and develop a plan that is going to make your skin look and feel so much healthier. Believe it! Let’s get started!

  2. Next, if you are someone with more experience with facial treatments and services, you may want to start with the DCF and a Microdermabrasion Add On. This facial is going to be more exfoliating and give you enhanced anti-aging results. This is due to the removal of excess dead skin cells thus smoothing and brightening the skin as well as increasing collagen in the dermis which aids in skin firmness and anti-wrinkle fighting. The microcurrent/Ultrasonic add on is also a great add on to implement to this facial as well.

  3. Finally, when you are an experienced facial client, you can start working harder on your anti-aging professional skin care with services such as TCA Peels and Medical Microneedling with LED Therapy. TCA Peels and Microneedling are both amazing services that are done in a series of 6-8 services to achieve the best, most optimal results.

*Note: TCA Peels and Microneedling, must be done once every 4 weeks only. To learn more about these 2 services, check out the blog posts on Microneedling and TCA Peels. You can only receive other facial services (microdermabrasion, nano-needling and deluxe customized facial) at the 2 week mark in between the TCA Peels and Microneedling.

Other facial treatment options include TREATMENT ADD ONS can be added on to almost any facial service!

  1. One example is the Micro-current/Ultrasonic Add On for face and neck ($25) Chest Add On ($15) with gives clients more long lasting results from their facial as well as a 15% Glycolic Acid peel of the stratum corneum, the top layer if the epidermis. Gylcolic Acid (or Mandelic Acid for sensitive skin) is an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) that is not only wrinkle fighting, but chews away at the inner cellular cement that holds the dead skin cells together, leaving skin feeling baby soft as well as ready to absorb all the other wonderful Naturopathica products we use on your skin thereafter. Level UP!

  2. Another treatment add on option is LED therapy Add On ($15 face add on and $15 chest add on) -10 min This is a supremely healing treatment that you can add on to any facial service to aid in the reduction of inflammation as well as collagen regeneration in the dermis, aka less wrinkles!.

  3. Yet another treatment add on is the Dermaplaning Add On ($25). Dermaplaning removes about 2-3 weeks worth of dead skin of the surface of the skin while also removing the tiny vellus (baby hairs) all over the surface of the face. It’s an excellent add on service for cellular turnover, product penetration and makes makeup go on like a dream. It is also perfect substitute for waxing with clients that cannot receive waxing do to medications or other skin conditions. Smooth operator!

*Note: If you have more coarse hair on the lip and chin area as most clients do, and are a candidate for waxing, you may consider waxing those two areas instead of dermaplaning and simply dermaplane the rest of the face. This is just a suggestion and if you are not sure, just ask!
